Salary Range

Several firms at Kolkata have entry level requirements for “Business Analyst” with differing job functions. Starting salaries range from Rs 1,50,000 to 6,00,000, depending upon the education, experience and skill sets. While these are at the bottom of the salary scale, salaries keep going up depending upon software skills, education,, experience and sector knowledge.

Salaries for SAS System Administrators / Developers/Programmers typically range between Rs 2,00,000 for entry level to beyond 7,00,000 depending upon software know how. Hands on experience with BI tools, fraud or QA, can command higher salaries. Salaries for larger organizations, and professionals with about 5 years experience, command packages of Rs 18,00,000 plus.

The bottom line is that the analytics placement scenario at Kolkata has begun looking up with SMEs, institutes and organizations handling data, hiring for various job roles. From traditional data analyst jobs and BI consultants the job landscape has broadened to include remote jobs and backend office operations that require analytics skills. A great prospect for those qualified in SAS, SPSS or other statistical skills from professional schools.

    Hope you are doing well. The post about then Data Analytic (SAS) is really inspiring. My question is what is the current job market scenario for SAS as I am planning to take up the course. I am presently in Delhi/NCR working as Data Analyst with total experience of 1.5 years. Once I am done with the course how should I showcase myself to land up at a job on SAS i.e. how to find a job in SAS field.

    I am a maths honours graduate with 4 actuarial papers. I have learnt SAS too. I am looking for entry level job where I can put my analytical skills as well as my software skills like SAS and Excel. Please guide me if there are any such opportunities. I will wait to hear from you.
